 Stephen D. Butt

Professor

Prof. Stephen Butt is a Geological Engineer by background and has been engaged with the development of natural resources through teaching, research and industry collaboration. He has been a faculty member at Memorial University since 2006, and previously at Dalhousie University from 1996 to 2006, focused on technology development and optimization, reducing environmental foot print, and the training of highly qualified personnel and industry professionals. He has held research funding of $4.5M CAD as Principal Investigator and another $13.5M CAD as Co-Investigator, supervised ~85 Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP), published ~100 articles and proceedings, and holds one patent. He has been Mining Program Chair at Dalhousie University and Associate Dean (Graduate) and Process Engineering Chair at Memorial, and is an Associate Mining Engineer with MineTech International in Halifax, Canada. For the past decade, Prof. Butt has lead a multidisciplinary team investigating the fundamentals of drilling penetration, including bit-rock interactions, penetration mechanisms, bit-wear, coupling with drill string vibrations, and implications for well control and automated drilling.

Brig Gen Md. Lutfor Rahman, PhD

Brig Gen Rahman has received BSc and MSc Engg degree in ME from BUET. He has completed his PhD degree from the same university in 2017. He has hold so many prestigious position in EME core, Bangladesh Army. He served MIST in several times. He was the first Dept Head and currently he is also serving as Dean in the same department. During his stay in MIST, he published some research papers. He has also chaired few conference and acted as reviewers for many journals and conference proceedings. He is also an author of a technical book.

Dr Baree has completed Doctor of Philosophy in Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding from University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom. He has also completed Bachelor of Science in Engineering(1975) in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

He has published lot of articles in international and national journals and conference proceedings.

Dr A K M Nurul Amin

Professor 

Dr Amin has completed his PhD from Volgograd Polytechnic Institute, USSR, also received MSc Engg from the same Institute. He is graduated from BUET.

Dr Amin joined BUET as assistant professor and promoted as associate professor and professor of same university.

He has also served in the department of Manufacturing & Materials Engineering Department, International Islamic University Malaysia  as Associate  Professor and as Professor.  He is currently serving at AUST.

He has so far published 5 books under International Publishers and IIUM Press. He is also the author of 35 chapters in book, editor of 4 compiled book chapters published by IIUM Press. He was invited by Intech Open Source (German based) International Publisher to review a contributed book on Titanium Alloys, which has been published in 2012. He received an award for the publication in 2015 from the Deputy Rector R&I for that publication by a reputed publisher. Apart from that He was invited by the international Publisher Elsevier to contribute a Chapter on his expert area : Heat Assisted Machining in the book series Comprehensive Materials Processing, published in 2015.

Dr Amin so far published over 300 international Journal and conference proceeding papers and developed own theory of chatter and also methods of chatter control, both of which have been published in the prestigious American Society of Manufacturing Science and Engineering Journal.

Md. Zahurul Haq, Ph.D, CEA, FIEB

Professor

Dr Haq has received M.Sc. Engg. (Mech) from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1995 and successfully completed Ph.D. from the University of Leeds, Leeds, UK  in 1998.

Dr Haq has published many articles in Journals and Conference Proceedings. He is the authors of some books and wrote few book chapter.

Dr.Nikhil Ranjan Dhar

Professor

Dr. N. R. Dhar received his B.Sc. Engg., M.Sc. Engg. Degrees from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He served as a teaching position in BIT, Khulna, TTTC, Dhaka, and BUET, Bangladesh in various capacity. He then received Master in Technical Education from The VUM, UK and completed Ph.D. from IIT, Kharagpur, India.

Throughout his carrier, along with regular teaching, Dr. Dhar carried out research in various directions in the area of Manufacturing.   He published more than 178 technical papers in reputed journals and proceedings with 1653 citations. He completed a number of projects funded by Govt. of Bangladesh and some industries. He attended and presented papers in many national and international conferences. He has vast experience in research and consultancy.
